Ailsa Brackley du Bois is undertaking interdisciplinary PhD studies with Deakin University's School of Communications and Creative Arts. Her thesis is titled ‘Stardust on the Goldfields: Theatrical Entertainment, Popular Culture and Public Place in Victoria 1851-1911’. Ailsa receives the support of an 'Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship'. Her research interests include historiography of theatrical entertainment 1851-1911; cultural heritage and political sociology of the Victorian Goldfields; adaptive reuse of heritage buildings and streetscapes; the reinvention of cityscapes; and narrative non-fiction.
