Başak Demireş Özkul is an Associate Professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Istanbul Technical University. She completed her PhD degree in 2011, at the Bartlett School of Planning, University College London, and her Master’s degree from the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT. After her Master’s degree, she has worked as a real estate project manager in Boston, MA, USA. She has been teaching and researching issues on planning theory, economic development, mobility studies, and spatial analysis.
