Dr David Leith is Acting Director, Strategic Services, Workcover WA and an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Communications and Arts, Edith Cowan University. His most recent book, Workplace culture and accidents: how management can communicate to prevent injuries (VDM Verlag Dr. Mueller e.K, 2008) describes the safety culture in a large minerals refining plant and argues that workers' safety culture differs from that of management. The thesis on which the book is based won the 2004 Faculty of Communications and Creative Industries Research Medal.
