David Marshall is professor and chair of New media and cultural studies ias well as head of the School of Social Sciences, Media and Communication at the University of Wollongong. He has two major research and publishing areas. He has written several books and many articles on celebrity culture; he has also written two books and many articles on new media culture. His current research is working to merge these two areas through a study of the transformation from a representational media regime to a presentational media regime.
