Dr Kate Delmo is a senior lecturer at the Strategic Communication Discipline in the School of Communication, University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Her research activities examine the intersection between data, people, and technology with research interests in issues and crisis communication, digital and social media in disaster risk resilience, and digital influencers. Kate’s teaching philosophy is anchored in practice-based learning, one of the key pillars of the UTS’ Model of Learning. Her work in this area has been recognised by her academic peers that led to numerous teaching and learning awards both Faculty- and university-wide.
