Ryan Al-Natour is a doctoral candidate based at the Centre for Cultural Research, University of Western Sydney. His current research investigates a variety of issues including moral panics, racism, Aboriginality, ethnicity, community, youth, identity, riots and Islamophobia. He teaches and lectures for Badanami: Centre of Indigenous Education and the School of Humanities and Languages. Ryan has a background in welfare and policy, and has worked with Indigenous students, Muslim and Arab communities in Sydney’s West and other communities in the area.
