Nguyen Hong Van is an MA student in Sociology at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, who also works as an independent research assistant when she is at home in Ha Noi, Vietnam. Van has experience in conducting ethnographic fieldwork with vulnerable and overlooked groups such as rural-to-urban migrants, ethnic minority groups and people with disabilities. Her research interests focus on the lives of women in developing countries, oral narratives and communities in transition.
